Kelty-Brooke Bailey, LCMHC

I earned a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitaion Counseling and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Meredith College. I recieved my clinical training at the Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders within the University of North Carolina's Department of Psychiatry. I worked as an individual, family and group therapist on the inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient teams. I was trained to provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and motivational interviewing, individually and in group settings, specifically for the treatment of individuals with eating disorders, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and trauma/PTSD.
Prior to entering private practice, I maintained a faculty appointment as Clinical Instructor within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I provided outpatient individual and group therapy to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, substance use disorders, developmental disabilities, and chronic medical conditions. I took an active role in developing and leading complementary therapeutic programming such as wellness and healthy weight groups, meditative walking groups, and horticultural therapy. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and the Academy for Eating Disorders.
My previous work, through a Duke Endowment, allowed me to assist in developing a delivery system to integrate psychiatric and medical care through the creation of a model health home. I led a multi-disciplinary team who provided up to 50 patients with intensive mental health treatment, medical care, wellness services, and meaningful activities. This work allowed me to develop a broad skill set to address a range of diagnostic concerns.
